Laguna Socks

Posted by Leigh Koegler on

Melissa, knitting friend, is co-hosting a knit-a-long (KAL) for
the Laguna Sock Pattern by Debbie Reese .
(pattern available on Ravelry)
It is lovely quick knit that includes color work and an afterthought heel.  Not having done an afterthought heel, I thought it would be fun to join in and give it a go!
If you haven't tried and afterthought heel before, it involves picking up stitching where you want to place the heel then *cutting* your knitting.
First time around didn't go so well....
Somehow I managed to pick up stitches on two different rows.  The only solution was to rip it back and try again.  Thanks to the help of another knitting friend, I managed to get the heels in on the next try.. (thanks Carrie!!)
The finished socks:
Yarns:
• Blue - naturally dyed indigo from my stash.
• Peach - 'Steel Magnolia' also from the stash
and available in the shop.
• Brown - mystery yarn from the stash.
There is still time to join in the KAL on Instagram
as it runs through Sept. 30th!
There are some lovely prizes:
Stitch markers from Knitty by Nature.
DPN needle cozy from Steel City Stitcher.
and
Be sure to tag your projects to join with
